One day recently my husband popped down the road to help a neighbor harvest his vinyard. Yes, really. Look, there are pictures to prove it.
Siegerrebe (say that ten times fast) grapes taste nice straight off the vine (though they have seeds) and make a light, crisp white when fermented. My husband had already been playing with the idea of a vinyard of our own, and I think this experience sold him on it. Hi-ho grapevines next summer!
